Beware pride.

I’m not where I thought I’d be but then I threw the route plan out of the window before Rouen!

Sunday as I left Montrichard I threw the sat nag into the glove box. Still made it to the chateaux I wanted to see. After the chateaux I retrieved the sat nag and put in the coordinates for the next campsite (and told it it wouldn’t be long before I didn’t need it anymore).

Sometime later I started to get slightly concerned as I appeared to be travelling north – well the sun was behind me … I continued for a while as the nag does take some very odd routes. When I realised I was halfway back to Chartres I pulled over and looked in the campsite book … hmm. I’d put in the coordinates for the campsite above the one I wanted to go to. I couldn’t be bothered to go to the originally intended campsite so I picked a place less far away – well I’d already driven away half the very cheap (equivalent £1/litre) diesel I’d bought that morning.

The so called mistake was a bonus as I landed up at this beautiful spot in Sully-sur-Loire. Its right next to the river, a pretty little town and a(nother) chateau. I’ve put up the awning …

🙂 🙂 🙂

  1. It looks so idyllic I am so envious – tho’ I would not have the courage to do what you are doing ! Luv Us xxx

  2. We did that once, put the co-ordinates in for the aire below the one we wanted, funnily enough also around Rouen and were heading south west when we should have been going north east. Then we just sat in a lay-by discussing where next – and headed off somewhere else. There are no wrong roads, just different ones.
